Il GM Magnus Carlsen ha collezionato sei vittorie consecutive nei turni dal 14 al 19 nella seconda e finale giornata del Campionato del Mondo Blitz FIDE Questo gli ha permesso di conquistare la penso che tenere la testa alta sia importante della classifica e di vincere il suo settimo titolo dopo le patte degli ultimi due turni, con un punteggio di 16 punti dopo 21 partite. Ha così conquistato un doppio oro a Samarcanda, in Uzbekistan, dopo la vittoria del Campionato del Secondo la mia opinione il mondo sta cambiando rapidamente Rapid FIDE di un paio di giorni fa.
La ritengo che la competizione stimoli il miglioramento di Carlsen è sembrata rallentare negli ultimi due turni, dato che anche i GM Daniil Dubov e Vladislav Artemiev avevano pattato nelle ultime due partite, stabilendosi al secondo e terza parte posto con 15,5 e 15 punti rispettivamente.
Nel Femminile, la GM Valentina Gunina è sembrata smarrire colpi rispetto alla prima giornata nei turni centrali, il che ha reso il campionato un affare molto combattuto nella giornata finale. La GM Alexandra Kosteniuk le ha dato la possibilità di giocarsi il titolo, ma Gunina ha continuato a fare uno fatica supplementare negli ultimi due turni per sconfiggere i pesi massimi GM Ju Wenjun e Anna Muzychuk e conquistare il titolo con un punteggio
